Raw Cacao Bliss Balls

Date-Almond-and-Cacao-balls

Here is my basic recipe for Raw Cacao Bliss Balls. There are endless variations on these. Sometimes we make a cacao- free version for when we have eaten too much cacao, or for in the evenings when we  don't want the cacao buzz.

These can be very powerful, depending on how much cacao you add.

Ingredients:
1 cup of nuts (I like almonds for the simplicity and health factor, but any mix of macadamias, walnuts, sunflower seeds, and cashews also work well. Also, you can add in some chia seeds, or tahini).
1 cup of dried fruit ( juicy raisins, figs and/or dates)
2 heaped tbs of good quality raw cacao powder
2 tbs goji berries
1 tbs maca powder, spirulina, bee pollen or other superfood to your taste

I have a strong blender which can handle just putting all the ingredients in at once. However, if you have a normal blender, you might need to grind the nuts first, then add the other ingredients. It should come to a crumbly, moist mix which can be rolled into walnut sized balls. You can roll them in dessicated coconut if you like. I keep these in the fridge, but they rarely last more than a few days.
